Op zondag 23 oktober is in de parochie kerk de H. Willibrordus te Bakel een familieviering gehouden in het kader van Wereldmissiedag voor de kinderen. De collecteopbrengst was € 111,43 en wordt gedoneerd aan de Astrid Uganda Foundation.

On Sunday, September 11, a sensitive date, Gemert Mert took place. This is an annual event where thousands of people come to take a look at all the stalls.
The Astrid Uganda Foundation presented itself here for the third year in a row and it was a fantastic day. In Gemert several foundations are united in "Gemert, a source for others' and we always stand next to each other on the Mert.

This year the theme of the Lent fund-raising appeal within the parishes of Gemert, Bakel, de Mortel, Elsendorp, Handel, Milheeze and de Rips in the beautiful province of Noord-Brabant, the Netherlands, was ‘Plant something beautiful for someone else’. 
With this campaign everyone was invited to contribute to a sustainable society.

Stichting laat zich zien op Bakelse Jaarmarkt
Zondag 5 juni stonden we met een stand op de jaarmarkt in Bakel, de geboorteplaats van Astrid en de woonplaats van haar ouders. We hadden goed weer, het was gezellig druk en we hebben een aantal leuke gesprekken gevoerd. En allerlei producten verkocht. Ook een aantal van de nieuwe kingskin producten, gemaakt van de bast van de Matubu boom. Totale opbrengst: € 276,27.
Er staan nog twee regionale jaarmarkten op het programma waar we met een stand willen staan:
Zondag 11 september in Gemert
De gemeente die ook een geweldige vastenactie heeft gehad waarvan de Astrid Uganda Foundation de opbrengst krijgt.

It was a gorgeous day on April 10th, 2011, so why not take the whole family to the seaside, to Scheveningen perhaps?
Many people did just that, yet many others did not, since it was crowded on the 2011 Uganda Day, very crowded. Throughout the day some 800 people visited this beautiful event, organized by the Astrid Uganda Foundation in collaboration with ICU and PEFO. The scene of the action was the Haagse Hogeschool (The Hague College of higher education) in the Hague, the perfect location for these kind of events.
The entire event had been organized by volunteers only, but the ultimate result was most professional. So, all honour to the group of people who worked very hard to draw up an outstanding programme.
