Children are the future. Also in Uganda. But only when they are able to go to school. Because a good education provides better opportunities for an independent life. Therefore the Astrid Uganda Foundation wants all children to be able tot got to school. How do we achieve that? By asking the local community how they would tackle this issue themselves. That works.
"If more organizations would accept that Africans take the lead in implementing ideas that affect themselves, a lot of donor money would be more successful than it is now" says Fred Obala, project manager on behalf ICUganda for Astrid Uganda Foundation.
The community around the Green Valley Nursery and Orphanage Centre School in Bwera is the first to benefit from the unique approach of the Astrid Uganda Foundation.
